Wow, and I get called a grammar nazi?
If it's readable, it's decent. And to continue...

It's a rhetorical question.

You must have missed the first part of it.
And either way, you may have pointed out small flaws in my own grammar, and yes, I have to learn still myself.
But I wouldn't even consider commenting on this:

Lol, ahh I have just have one more "stereotypical" response then I'm done w/ this topic. I didn't start a new topic saying "My monk sucks help me", I was posting a suggestion on what works very well for ME. In all fairness I will try swapping my DF scalp for healing as I'm all for suggestions and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. The elitist "you don't know what you are doing b/c you aren't doing what I'm doing" attitude I can do w/out. However it's not a matter of opinion but a fact that a healer's only job is to heal and if you aren't "crapping energy" you aren't healing, and if you aren't healing, you are one step away from leeching(or at the very least just pissing off your team).0 en=0 hp if you are the healer and you can't heal regardless of how much hp you have. If you can't "crap energy" in any caster class w/ out proper managing your best bet is to leave the wands and staves alone and focus on melee. I am not concerned at all w/ sacrificing 35hp for the sake of more effective skills, if it ever does become an issue (and w/ less than 10 total deaths in 2 1/2 campaigns between groups and myself, it hasn't) I will go beat hell's w/ yet another char and get a +60 staff. As I said in my first post I am by no means saying "I'm the best monk, do as I do and nothing else".
|
Infact, I will.
No paragraphs means you lose.
And seriously, if I had such bad grammar, I would of been notified a long time ago judging from the amount of my time spent posting.
And yes, I'm open to improvement on my grammar, but the point still stands that no paragraphs just turns it into a wall of text.

I have to redo mine but atm mine are as follows
Scalp: Minor Devine Fvour
Hands:Minor Healing Prayers
Chest: Major Vigor
Legs : Minor Smiting
Feet : Minor Protection.
I am thinking of going with scalp in healing or protection with +1.I am not sure if I should replace my smiting rune with clarity or restoration rune. What would you all have to say?

why? you have condition removal. Your other monk should have condition removal, resto is pointless.

I run a resto over a vitae for daze in RA, but thats about it. Not really needed in any other place where somebody else will have condition removal too.
lol at grammar wars.
@Damian979 : If you try any of those rune configurations you suggested and then switch to Yichi's suggestion, the numbers will be different, but the results should be the same, except you have more hp with Yichi's. If you really want to use one of those sets you suggested, I would go for number 4, maybe 6 or 7.

Average cripshot ranger has poison+crip, the poison covers crip, one dismiss condition (assuming you're the RC), will just remove the poison as he re-apply's it and you lag behind your group that is falling back, getting gang raped.
It also helps (especially with a 20% crip shield) with the lava on burning isle.
If your getting spiked to the point where 10hp saves you're life, the monks are bad at preprot or bad at the "ohshi" button (RoF, infuse) and the damage has been done since the start of the match, imo.

Cripshot can reapply it faster. same with cripslash, they'll train you enough that by the time the cripple might end they'll have full adren again.
doesn't matter crap in the lava.
there are also other things then pure spike - monk. (hello, shutdown, hello energy, hello idiot that can't kite and eats more damage).
it could be the few hp you survive with after a catapult shot.
in generel, it's better. besides, you make it sound like people can use sup runes now, because if the preprot comes in every time there should be a ps on either way? :> surely not the right way to argue.

Vitae is definatly the better option overall, no matter what you play your going to need HP. But monking is alot of preference (as long as your "preference" is healing breeze or something), and I prefer resto depending on the meta. Sometimes the 20% poisen/disease if its pressure heavy. If I have no idea what im going against, then ill definatly take a vitae.

I would have to say if you are running mend condition then rune of restoration would be fine.
Some take thier grammer far to literally.

i use much different armor for pve monking than i do for pvp...
pve i find to be drastically easier to monk in, unless you are in a crap pug. Because of that, i tend to use energy buffs and higher runes in pve. So, depending on build....i run something like this in pve.
Radiant - sup heal
Radiant - sup vigor
Radiant - minor divine
Radiant - attunement
Radiant - minor prot
That gives me 55e and 455 hp in my staff and 45e and 485 hp in defensive set (high and low sets change accordingly). In pve i've never really needed anything else. I find that the energy and hp are just fine for pve.
I think it's all about philosophy, though. When you are trying to rune your monk, go with what feels comfortable. If you're a better monk with more hp, go with that. If you'd rather have more energy, use radiants. Pve is all about comfort in my opinion. In PvP, things change and the survivors and vitae really come in handy.
One other side note, is that i also carry in pve another headpiece with survivor and vitae just in case of an emergency (a quick switch gives you +90 hp).

ouch, cant say i agree with your choice of runes :/. 455-485hp is far too low, and you can easily get 42e on a normal set and 72 on a high set while having close to 600 health.
